Everett's Choice California Fuchsia
Epilobium canum 'Everett's Choice'

About Everett's Choice California Fuchsia (Epilobium canum 'Everett's Choice') 21 Nurseries Carry This Plant Horticultural selection from Epilobium canum; intro Everett Butts, Wapumne Nursery, Lincoln, CA . Everett's Choice California Fuchsia is one of the lowest growing of all of the fuchsias. Its fuzzy grey foliage hugs the ground, seldom reaching past 6" in height. It's vivid red-orange tubular flowers are a magnet to hummingbirds when the flowers cover the sub-shrub from summer into fall. Everett's Choice does best in full sun along the coast with some afternoon shade in hot inland gardens. This fuchsia is drought tolerant but does best with a deep summer watering every couple of weeks after establishment. As with all California fuchsias, a hard winter cut back will produce a denser plant the following year. Fuchsias are also know to be quite deer resistant. Everett's Choice will spread from 4 to 5 feet wide and looks great next to a path or trailing over a rock wall or container. Tolerates almost any soil type. Prefers sun in coastal sites, and sun or part shade in inland sites. Selected for the garden.
